Problem In past week or so, I have started to get Scanner handler errors when trying to append a document to an existing tif file opened with Kodak Kodak imaging download windows xp free. Scanning a new document still worked fine but appending to an existing document repeatedly produced this error.
Steps taken to resolve: First unregistered and reregistered the. No joy. I also removed all the Imaging files and replaced them in the same directory with files kodak imaging download windows xp free a backup in case they had become corrupted. I uninstalled my scanner drivers and softwareremoving all registry entries left as shown by regcleaner. This did not work and the same error was produced by selecting the native Windows scanner software. I then restored an image of my whole system from one made a few weeks previously when Kodak Imaging was still appending to existing documents with no problems.
This did not work either. This morning I have removed the Kodak Imaging files again, having unregistered all the. However, windows is now not letting me change the program with which. Browsing to Kodak imaging merely results in the kodak imaging icon NOT appearing in the list and the tif file opening with the default windows picture and fax viewer. Could anyone suggest how I might resolve this last remaining problem?
Joined Mar 9, Messages 8, Howdy and welcome Quick question Why on earth are you using Imaging? Hi, Thansk for your post. Like many people I think the stripped down version of Kodak Imaging is just right for home based document management. Sophisticated enough to do it well and not at all 'noddy' like the win pictures and fax viewer.
Please suggest which you think are superior and I'll take a look. Irfanview Note Imaging is like being back in the barnyard Tried Irfanview once before and I found the interface extremley fussy and badly laid out. That was some considerable while ago and current screenshots look much improved. I will give it another go on your recommendation. On a quick kodak imaging download windows xp free around I agree that this is an excellent and impressive image viewer and does many other kodak imaging download windows xp free BUT can you kodak imaging download windows xp free me how I can append a new scanned document to an existing tif file?
This is something that makes the stripped down "Kodak crap" a very useful document manager. Another good document management feature in Kodak Imaging is ability to view thumbnails and a selected page in a particular document on screen at the same time in one window. This makes for quick navigation by use of scroll bars through many pages in the same document.
Seems to me that IrfanView will only allow a view of thumbnails of documents kodak imaging download windows xp free a folder NOT of pages in a document? May be wrong and haven't found the functionality yet.
If you can point me to it that would be great. Have discovered that you can use IrfanView to scan a new multipage document and then in a second operation append it to an existing document. However, so far have only managed to get it to append the first page of the new document, the other pages being lost! This is a real faff compared to Kodak imaging which allows easy scrolling through all existing pages in a document and also allows newly scanned pages to be inserted between existing pages as well as appended to the end - kodak imaging download windows xp free in one easy operation from the existing open file!
Tell me I'm wrong otherwise you'd better eat your words about Kodak Imaging being crap. In my opinion neither program is crap. They ar both good at different things. I'm not so sure that it aims to be a good document manager. If you make good use of the Kodak software my hat is off to you Thanks but then, with the greatest of respect, may I suggest that you should not continue to slag it off if you've actually had no cause to use it for it's intended purpose which I think is something slightly different to an image viewer or editor kodak imaging download windows xp free Irfan or maybe Photoshop.
I would agree that it's not the best for image editing or viewing, that's why I use photoshop. But it does actually facilitate basic document management Might you have any suggestions on the problem posed in my original post.
Might you have any suggestions on the problem posed in my original post. I do have two legit copies of XP Home so do not quite understand your post. Do both of your "legit" CDs act the same? The copy in question as with the other has run Kodak Imaging successfully. Might be a good idea to read my original post again - it's quite far back now The copy on my laptop is running okay and windows is allowing it to be used as default for purposes of file association. Have not used the copy on my laptop for scanning but that is not really the issue now Oh, and why the "legit" in quotation marks!!!
Are you suggesting that I am lying about the copies of XP that I have? If you are then I am offended! As Seen On. Welcome to Tech Support Guy! Latest posts.
